Our Son is 1!!!!!

Killian turned one on Feb 7th, and his birthday party was also on that day...it was soooo much fun and it turned out great....he DID NOT dive into his cake but quietly licked his fingers and ate a few pieces of cake.....I think it had something to do with the 15 people staring at him....yes our son is shy...painfully at times....he isn't around the people he knows very well, but large groups make him shy...he did not get that from me...as a child and the 3rd kid, I was always saying 'hey look at me", "watch me do this".....his dad on the other hand was and is the shy one in the family....I made him a shirt that said 1 on it and it looked so cute...here is a guest list of the people who attented:

grandma and papa Frank
Natalie and Isa
Mandy, Morris, and Dezarae
Rebecca, Pete, Justin and Kyle
Uncle Matthew
Daddy and Mama

we had pizza and cake..two cakes, one chocolate the other was carrot....then we all went to Main Event for fun and games...after about an hour Killian was done..he came home and had a two hour nap....I can't believe our little man is 1 already...we can't wait for the next milestone and the next birthday!

Sometimes I miss Canada...

I live in Texas right now but originally I am from Canada and sometimes I really really miss it. Mostly b/c I just had a baby 10 months ago and you start to think about someone other than yourself. We sometimes think about moving back there to raise our son and here are some reason why:

1. Healthcare

2. Crime rate is low

3. Education

4. Alot more family to grow up around

5. Economy is better

Here are some reason to NOT move back:

1. SNOW IN THE WINTER

2. I would have to put my son in daycare b/c now I take him with me to work, and there I would probably do something different for a job

Oh yeah, I also miss alot of food from Canada here is that list:

1. Old Dutch potato chips

2. Tim Horton's coffee shops

3. chocolate bars, like Aero, Kit Kats, Mr. Big

4. Kraft Dinner

5. Earl's restaurant...mmmm pan bread and parm dip

so this morning I am missing Canada and wondering what to do, move or stay?

I thought babies were supposed to sleep all night at this age???

My adorable son Killian will be 10 months old on Dec 7th and he is NOT sleeping through the night yet. In fact this child still gets 1 4oz bottle in the middle of the night. With all the baby books I read while pregnant, I did not read about this anywhere!! And I am not alone, my best friend is having the same issue with her adorable daughter. I know I know, there is a million reasons why he isn't here is my top 3:

1. We co-sleep

2. Teething

3. He is torturing his mama and knows what he is doing

My pediatrician brought up a good fact, he said "babies, toddlers, young children will never sleep through the night so to speak, it is always something" " can I have a drink?, I had a bad dream, I peed the bed"....so there you have it, children apparently NEVER sleep through the night and someone forgot to tell me.
